Caring for your massage table

To make sure your massage table will last you for a long time, you should make sure to take good care and maintain your table. Keeping the table clean and in good condition will not only make the life of the table longer, it would also be more pleasing and comfortable for your clients. This would also benefit you, not only because you won’t have to go and buy another new table, but it would make the massage easier. Keeping your massage table well-maintained also is an important factor in keeping the table safe and sound for you and your customers. Below are a few tips on caring for your table to make sure you get your full use of the massage table life.

Caring for Your Table:

Structural Care: You should occasionally examine the structural parts, which includes the frame, legs, braces and connections to ensure that they are in proper working condition.

Fabric Care: The table's fabric should be cleaned with mild soap and water or non-abrasive cleaners such as Windex or Fantastic or with special massage table cleaners. Those special cleaners remove oils from
the fabric and help keep your table clean. Your table should be cleaned
after each use. Do not use vinyl cleaners and conditioners like Armor All
because the fabrics are generally pre-treated with protective finishes.

Use a fitted table sheet and headrest cover to protect the fabric from oil stains, punctures and tears. The sheet should be changed after each massage.

A strong carrying case for your table is a good investment. It is useful for
storing and protecting your table when not in use, and it provides you with an easier method of transporting your table.
